WELCOME to my first artist blog post. Join me in my studio, embracing my creative process!

This is a little intro to KJOsborne Artist....Hi, I'm Karen (not that kind of Karen, honest!)

“Everything is created twice. First in the mind and then in reality.” ― Robin Sharma

I love this quote. It really sums up what I'm about and what I'm hoping to share with you here.

Many of us have spent years dreaming of returning to the one thing that brings us joy, but continuing to sideline that passion. Like so many people, it was the lockdown that made that shift for me. I had built a wonderful career working with stills photographers, but as that hackneyed expression goes "You only live once". It was my time to take up my brushes again.

Of course wanting to embrace my creativity is the reason for my art, but beyond that I love the idea that I can bring a bit of colour into the world; make people smile and be one of those people that help others reconnect with the beauty of nature. Be it through semi abstract interpretation, or through a completely abstract piece created while observing the beauty of line and pattern in this world in which we are privileged to live.

In my next post I'll share some of my process and technique, and of course, over the coming months, the highs and highs of my artist life :-)
